More than $190,000 raised in this
year's Giving Challenge
The final totals are in and between generous donors, awards and matching grants the Phelan-McDermid Syndrome Foundation raised more than $190,331 during last September’s Giving Challenge.
It’s the most we’ve raised in a single year since the Foundation first participated four years ago.
We received 902 gifts for a total of $95,220. After the 24-hour fund-raising event was over we received two $2,500 incentive gifts. The rest came through matching grants from the Patterson Foundation.
With last year’s totals, we have raised nearly $600,000 in the four years we've participated in the Giving Challenge.
The total amount raised placed us in third place among large nonprofits. According to the Community Foundation of Sarasota County, Fla., the Giving Challenge raised more than $5.6 million last year with the Patterson Foundation contributing about $7.5 million in matching grants to nearly 560 local nonprofits.
